2. Overview

The protection of your personal data is important to us. This Privacy Policy informs you about what data we process in connection with the website dotstorage.dev and our business relationship, for what purpose, and on what legal basis.

Important note: dotStorage is self-hosted software. All data stored within a dotStorage installation remains exclusively on the Customer's infrastructure. The Provider has no access to this data.

3. Data Processed

3.1 During Contact and Contract Formation

3.2 Data Stored in the dotStorage Software

dotStorage is operated on the Customer's infrastructure. The Provider has no access to data stored in dotStorage. As the operator of the installation, the Customer is the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR for all personal data stored therein.

The Software itself processes the following technical data locally on the Customer's infrastructure:

• File metadata (filename, size, timestamp, content type)
• S3 access credentials (Access Key, Secret Key) for API authentication
• Cluster communication data (IP addresses of nodes)
• Access logs (if enabled by the Customer)

This data does not leave the Customer's infrastructure and is not collected or processed by the Provider.

3.3 When Visiting the Website

When visiting dotstorage.dev, the following data is automatically collected by the web server:

• IP address (anonymized)
• Time of access
• Page visited
• Browser and operating system

This data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to ensure operation and detect abuse. No cookies are set and no tracking tools (Google Analytics, etc.) are used.
